CENTRAL POLICE STATION

HILLSBOROUGH, NORTH CAROLINA

 

MMPA designed Hillsborough's Central Police Station to reflect the four-square plan on which the Town was built. The building is comprised of three squares and an entry courtyard comprises the fourth.

 

Balance between the building's historic context and contemporary design was achieved using modern interpretations of traditional elements. The brick exterior features hand-tumbled bricks, slate hip roofs, and copper topped glass cupolas.

 

The Central Police Station's 5,700 SF includes:

  * Squad room
  * Investigator's offices
  * Secured evidence room
  * Training room
  * Fingerprinting area
  * Interrogation rooms
  * Administrative offices
  * Breathalyzer area
  * Fitness room. lockers and showers
