Nelson Hall was originally designed in 1940 as a teaching textile plant for the College of Textiles. The former "factory" has been adapted for use as the University's College of Management.

A phased renovation and occupancy program developed by MMPA included renovation of the building "infrastructure" and additional phased upfit packages.
