DUKE UNIVERSITY CAMERON INDOOR STADIUM DURHAM, NORTH CAROLINA
MMPA designed the first HVAC system for Duke University's Cameron Indoor Stadium, which was built in 1940.
In order to maintain the interior appearance and sight-lines of this nationally known facility, MMPA designed the HVAC systems using four custom roof-top units.
Region IV: 1st Place Technology Award Winner Public Assembly
2001 South Tower Addition Originally planned only to house mechanical systems, this addition provides additional exits from the stadium's main concourse level as well as additional restroom facilities. The upper level contains mechanical and electrical equipment for the stadium’s air conditioning system.
The design of the three-story stair tower incorporates Duke stone and arched doorways to aesthetically blend with the existing neo-gothic architecture.
An aluminum frame and insulated glass curtain wall with complex decorative off-sets was designed to reflect the adjacent, more modern buildings.
